Heather Dubrow, Reality Star/Entrepreneur/Author

Sigma Delta Tau Heather Dubrow is a woman of many talents. Known primarily for her stints on "The Real Housewives of Orange County" (RHOC), Heather's life story is a blend of glam, smarts, and an unwavering commitment to her family.

Early Life and Education

Heather Paige Kent was born on January 5, 1969 (Capricorn!), in the Bronx, New York City. She grew up in a close-knit family, cherishing her Jewish heritage and the values instilled in her from a young age. Heather's parents emphasized the importance of education and hard work, principles that would guide her throughout her life.

Heather's academic journey took her to Syracuse University, where she pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. Heather said, "From a very young age, I was singing and acting and performing for my family." Her time at Syracuse was pivotal, not just academically but also socially. On her podcast, Heather revealed that she competed in a Miss Greater Syracuse pageant during her time at the school: "I never expected to do that, and it completely changed my life. It trained me how to speak on my feet, how to speak in sound bites, how to give an interview and how to glean information from people."

At Syracuse, Heather became a proud member of Sigma Delta Tau (SDT), a sorority that champions empowerment, leadership, and community service among young women. Heather recently posted a photo of herself wearing letters on IG with the caption “Such great memories @sigmadletatau_su." Her affiliation with SDT played a crucial role in shaping her college experience, providing her with lifelong friendships and a supportive network.

The Path to Hollywood

After graduating from Syracuse University in 1990, Heather set her sights on an acting career. Her striking looks, coupled with her talent and determination, helped her make a mark in the entertainment industry. Heather's early career saw her landing roles in various television shows and movies. She appeared in popular series such as "Married... with Children," "Life with Roger," and "The Norm Show." Her big break came with a recurring role in the CBS drama "That's Life," where she portrayed Lydia DeLucca, a young woman navigating life's challenges while returning to college.

Heather's ability to blend comedy with drama made her a versatile actress, earning her recognition and respect in the industry.

Meeting Terry Dubrow and Family Life

Heather's life changed forever when she met Terry Dubrow on a blind date set up by a mutual friend. The chemistry between them was undeniable, and their relationship quickly blossomed into something special. Heather and Terry met and married in 1999, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Heather's life.

With her marriage to Terry, Heather chose to step back from her acting career to focus on her growing family. From 2002 to 2012, Heather took a hiatus from the entertainment industry to raise their four children: twins Nicholas and Max, Katarina, and Ace (fka Camille). This period was marked by Heather's dedication to her family, as she embraced the role of a full-time mother while supporting Terry's burgeoning career as a renowned plastic surgeon, later known for his work on "Botched."

The Real Housewives of Orange County

After a decade-long hiatus, Heather Dubrow returned to the spotlight in 2012 when she joined the cast of Bravo Network's "The Real Housewives of Orange County'' in Season 7. With the tagline "I may be married to a plastic surgeon, but I'm 98% real,” Heather brought a sense of sophistication, wit, and class that resonated with viewers. Unlike some of the more controversial figures on the show, Heather was often seen as the voice of reason, handling conflicts with grace and intelligence.

Her life on RHOC provided fans with a glimpse into her luxe world, showcasing her beautiful home, her loving family, and her many talents, including her skills as a hostess and her passion for design. In an interview with “The Hollywood Reporter, ”Heather reminded us of her values with “I do like nice things; we do live in a great house, but I don't choose my friends by how much money they have or what labels they're wearing."

Heather's journey on the show was not without its challenges, as she navigated friendships, feuds, and the pressures of being in the public eye. One particularly memorable scene occurred in Season 9, Episode 8, when Heather kicked everyone out of her Valentine's Day party before it really started. The decision came after a heated argument broke out between Shannon Beador and Tamra Judge. Shannon accused Tamra of spreading rumors about her marriage, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere for everyone. This abrupt end resulted in the tragic loss of $2000 of sushi.

Another significant conflict involved castmate Kelly Dodd. In Season 11, during a sushi dinner party at Meghan King Edmonds' house, tensions between Heather and Kelly escalated dramatically. Kelly made several offensive remarks to the other housewives, creating a hostile atmosphere. The situation reached a boiling point when Kelly accused Heather of being condescending and made personal attacks, leading Heather to famously walk out, declaring, "I'm done with this." (Maybe next time not sushi??) This confrontation highlighted Heather's no-nonsense approach to unacceptable behavior and created a memorable and dramatic moment on the show.

Additionally, during the cast trip to Ireland, Kelly made further inflammatory comments, including calling Shannon Beador the "C-word," which added to the ongoing animosity between Kelly and the other housewives. These conflicts were some of the most memorable and dramatic moments in Heather's time on RHOC. Nevertheless, she remained a beloved figure on the show until her departure after the 11th season in 2016.

The line's hero product, the Volumagen Volumizing Serum, is particularly popular, known for its ability to deliver youthful, radiant skin. Celebrity endorsements from figures like fellow "Real Housewives" franchise star Lisa Rinna have also helped boost the brand's profile.

"Because I am married to a surgeon, I do Botox and I do some fillers. But I truly believe that the best beauty secret is happiness."
