This Chi Omega does it all! Angela Kinsey is best known for her role as Angela Martin on The Office, but did you know Office Ladies, her podcast with Jenna Fischer, won Podcast of the Year at the iHeartRadio Podcast Awards 2021? (They're real-life besties, and it's a fun listen!)
Kinsey was initiated into the Theta Kappa chapter of Chi Omega when she studied English at Baylor University. After graduating, she moved to New York City (yay!) and scored an internship at Late Night with Conan O'Brien, where she fell in love with comedy and performing. She moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting and spent ten years writing and performing with improv groups The Groundlings and IO West. She worked as a phone operator for 1-800-DENTIST to support herself, and she says she drew upon that experience when she developed Angela Martin's character.
In 2005, being cast as buttoned-up Angela Martin on the mega-hit show The Office was a huge break for Kinsey -- she originally auditioned for the Pam Beesley role... can you see it? Fun trivia: in real life, Kinsey was married to Warren Lieberstein, who is Paul Lieberstein's brother -- the same Paul Lieberstein who played cringy Toby on The Office! Another fun one: Kinsey and the actor who plays Oscar were friends before the show and were thrilled to discover they'd both been cast.
Outside of The Office, Kinsey had guest roles on Monk, New Girl, and other shows and became a spokesperson for Clairol's Nice 'n Easy. Since then, she's gone on to roles in streaming shows like The Hotwives of Orlando and Haters Back Off, as well as movies, including License to Wed, All-Stars, and Tall Girl. We loved her guest role as Fredericka on Better Things, too!
In addition to all of Kinsey's acting success, she's also hosted a cooking competition show for Disney+ and then there's her YouTube baking series with her current husband, Joshua Snyder. Jenna Fischer and Kinsey launched their weekly rewatch podcast in 2019, and it took off during the 2020 pandemic when everyone rewatched the show (or re-rewatched?) In 2022, Kinsey and Fischer published Office BFFs: Tales of The Office. In real life, Kinsey is a cat-lover, too, and supports Alley Cat Allies. You can find her roller skating on IG, too!
